Bike track days will usually be split into three groups:
- Novice
- Intermediate
- Advanced
How to choose the right group:
Ability level applies to track riding rather than road driving. As the 2 styles are so different from one another, years of road experience will not give you experience for track riding/racing.
• If someone has never done a track day they will always have to go in Novice.
• If they have only done a few track days and are riding on a new circuit then still Novice.
• If they have done more than 2 track days at a venue and feel they were quicker than
most of the novices on their last event then intermediate should be fine.
• Advanced/Fast group will be full of semi-pro and pro racers, so is only
recommended for people that compete or have ridden advanced before.
Other formats of events are:
- Evenings
Combined groups: Novice/intermediate and intermediate/advanced
- Open Pitlane
Advanced riders or race licence holders.
- Novice only days
