Looking to book your first Car Track Day but want to find out a little more about how the day will pan out? If so, keep reading.
Once you've arrived at your venue your day will start with a registration and sign-on where you'll spend some time filling in some paperwork and having your driving licence checked.
After registration, you will then get your vehicle noise tested before attending the mandatory driver training - where you'll get a briefing on how the session is going to be run, track etiquette, circuit training and any other relevant information.
There are usually two main formats for Car Track Days which will dictate the organisation of your day. Typically they can be split into the following:
- Grouped Format - you'll be split into 2 or 3 groups according to experience and the circuit will open with the first session at 9 am, with the advanced group for 20 minutes, followed by the intermediate and the novice. This rotation will repeat until 1 pm where most circuits will break for lunch. You can use this as an opportunity to refuel your vehicle. The circuit will then re-open and the same structure will resume.
- Open Pitlane - This is typically how most car Track Days are organised where all levels of drivers use the track at the same time. Here, you can usually stay on the track for as long as you want, but it is advised that you give your vehicles a regular break.
Track Days may run slightly differently depending on what venue you are visiting and when you are going, but this is a rough guide for how the day will pan out.
