Understandably, 2020 was a year full of unprecedented twists and turns as the Covid-19 pandemic ripped through the nation. Unfortunately, this has had a profound effect on track day circuits across the UK, as they have had almost all their revenue streams completely dismantled, leaving them in an incredibly vulnerable financial state. With large events looking less likely to return anytime soon, this just further enhances the damages taken by these circuits as we strive to look forward with confidence to 2021.
Obviously, track days have not been able to go ahead for the last few months - and for a large portion of 2020 - which has also resulted in a massive decrease in revenue for Circuit Owners such as MSV.
They have undoubtedly been hit the hardest due to the large amount of circuits they own across the UK, and the little events or track days they have been able to host. It is due to these awful and unpredictable circumstances that they have had to increase their prices for the 2021 season.
With the 5% increase on circuit hire from MSV, here at TrackDays we have also adjusted our prices accordingly. This is something that all other UK track day providers have done, but all of us have been told there will be no increase for the 2022 season. So the good news is that we can guarantee the same track day costs for the next two years.
We wanted to share this information with you to explain why the prices have increased, and to be completely transparent regarding this. COVID-19 has truly tested the entire track day community, and we’re hopeful that you’ll all understand that the circuits are just taking the measures necessary to keep our wonderful sport alive.
We want to continue to thank you for all the support. All of our track day regulars and customers have been extremely understanding, and for that we are unbelievably grateful. We look forward to getting back on track and needing to only worry about how our vehicles are doing rather than this horrendous pandemic.
Rest assured, that day is coming and it will be sweeter than ever when it arrives. Please stay safe, take care of yourselves, take care of your loved ones and we look forward to seeing you back on track.
All the best,
The TrackDays Team
